Berkshire Staff Help Save Lives Following a Car Accident

MSA

On November 19, 2024, Major Peter Ochs(Ret.), Primary Captain Shelby Williamson (Ret.), Sergeant Bradley Montgomery and Officer Anthony Albano were on their way home from the Massachusetts State House after attending the Law Enforcement and Corrections Award Ceremony.

As they were traveling on the Mass Pike, they came upon a horrible accident that involved multiple individuals injured, including a child that was ejected from one of the vehicles.

All four of them worked tirelessly as a team, rendering care to those involved, especially the young child, until EMS could arrive. Due to their actions, what appeared to be a tragic accident, had a positive outcome and those involved are truly thankful for you all.

Due to these actions, all four staff members received letters of commendation for this incident.

"The job of being a first responder is never done. It doesn’t end at the end of shift, and it’s not something you hang up and can walk away from," said Sheriff Bowler. "It’s a purpose, it’s caring, it’s showing compassion and empathy even when times get difficult!"
