On Wednesday, September 18, the Massachusetts Sheriffs' Association had the privilege of welcoming the 84th National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) President, Sheriff Kieran Donahue, and his wife Jeanie to our September sheriffs’ meeting. Cumberland County, ME Sheriff Kevin Joyce also attended the meeting for an insightful discussion.
Sheriff Donahue and Jeanie presented about their nonprofit, the Man Up Crusade, which is an organization designed to bring awareness to the issue of domestic violence. They shared powerful statistics of domestic violence in the United States and their work to put a stop to the epidemic.
Other pressing issues facing law enforcement were discussed at the meeting including border and national security concerns. Sheriff Donahue, who is the sheriff in Canyon County, ID, shared his extensive experience traveling to the border to see first-hand what has been going on in our country.
Sheriff Patrick McDermott and the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office graciously hosted the meeting, which took place at the historic Beal House at the Adams National Historic Park on Adams Street in Quincy, MA.
