The Norfolk County Sheriff's Office announced a new partnership with the Snapchef Foundation to provide justice-involved individuals with expert culinary and employment training and job placement assistance before they reenter their communities after incarceration.
The program will be funded by the Re-Entry Workforce Development Demonstration Program Grant administered by Commonwealth Corporation on behalf of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development and the Healey-Driscoll Administration.
“This hands-on program adds to our mission to improve the outcomes of individuals in the care and custody of the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff McDermott. “This training by the Snapchef Foundation will begin inside our facility, providing participants nearing the end of their sentences with valuable skills and a clear pathway to stable employment when they are released, through the support of our recently opened H.O.P.E Center, to help break the cycle of recidivism.”
