WCSO Gives Away Thousands of Winter Coats

MSA

The Worcester County Sheriff's Office and Worcester County Reserve Deputy Sheriff's AssociationĀ held their annual Winter Coat Drive again this year. Many community members and representatives of local organizations have supported the coat drive in various ways.

Starting Tuesday, October 22, and continuing through the first week of November, Sheriff Evangelidis and his teams visited over 20 non-profit organizations and community centers to directly distribute coats to community members. These coats will not only provide warmth and comfort during the colder months but also serve as a symbol of support and care from local law enforcement.

On the first day of distributions, staff distributed more than 1,500 coats to many different organizations throughout Worcester County. By the end of this week, the office distributed over 4,000 brand-new winter coats to those in need.

The coats will go a long way in helping the elderly, the homeless, and many more vulnerable populations stay warm during the coming months.
